How much kibble should I feed my dog per day?
The amount of kibble to feed a dog depends on weight, age, activity, neutering status and the calories shown on the food label. A reliable estimate starts from daily energy needs, then converts them into grams of kibble.

Explanation
Two dogs with the same weight can have different needs. A neutered, senior or sedentary dog will often need a more moderate portion than a young and very active dog. The food’s energy value also changes the result: kibble at 3600 kcal/kg does not give the same portion as kibble at 4200 kcal/kg.
The easiest method is to enter the dog’s weight, life profile and food calories into the calculator. The result gives an indicative daily portion in grams, to adjust based on weight evolution and general condition.
Formula / method
Daily portion in g = daily energy need ÷ kibble kcal/kg × 1000
Concrete example
If a dog needs about 650 kcal per day and the kibble provides 3800 kcal/kg, the estimated portion is about 171 g per day.
Common mistake
Do not rely only on the measuring cup or the pack table. These indications are general and may not account for neutering, body condition or wet food added on top.
