Manage a Magic tournament without a spreadsheet
This MTG Swiss rounds tournament manager helps run a Magic event without a hacked spreadsheet: player registration, round generation, automatic bye, score entry, drops, match history, standings and tiebreakers.
Clean pairings
Players are sorted by points and the tool avoids rematches whenever possible.
Readable standings
Standings use points, OMW%, GW% and OGW% to separate players.
Local save
The tournament stays in the browser and can be exported as JSON for archiving or resuming later.
Swiss round pairings for MTG
The tool ranks players by points, generates the next round pairings and avoids previous opponents whenever possible. If the number of players is odd, a bye is assigned automatically.
Scores, draws and round points
A win gives 3 points, a draw gives 1 point to each player and a loss gives 0 points. Supported simple scores are: 2-0, 2-1, 1-0, 1-1 and 0-0.
Final standings with tiebreakers
Standings first use match points, then OMW%, GW% and OGW% tiebreakers. This gives a usable ranking quickly, even during a club event.
Good habits for a smooth tournament
- Lock registrations before round 1.
- Enter scores as soon as matches end.
- Mark drops instead of removing a player after the tournament starts.
- Export the JSON at the end of the event to keep a record.
FAQ
Which scores can I enter?
The tool supports simple scores used in club tournaments: 2-0, 2-1, 1-0, 1-1 and 0-0. A win gives 3 points, a draw gives 1 point to each player, and a loss gives 0 points.
How is the bye assigned?
The tool takes the lowest-ranked player who has not received a bye yet. If everyone already had one, it takes the lowest available player.
Can drops be managed?
Yes. A dropped player remains in rounds already played, but is no longer paired in later rounds.
Can I manage a Magic tournament from a phone?
Yes. The tool is mobile-first so you can add players, generate rounds, enter scores and check standings during the event.
What is the difference with a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet requires you to manage pairings, scores and tiebreakers manually. Here, the tool automates rounds, bye assignment, standings and history.
