Why compute your real work time?
Your contract says 35 or 39 hours, but your body counts many more. This work time calculator exposes the time captured by life around your job: daily commute, lunch breaks taken at the office, and your personal duties.
Invisible time isn't paid, yet it prevents you from owning your days. A global calculation gives you a realistic view of your mental load and work/life balance.
The 168-hour week method
- Actual work & BreaksEnd time minus start time, less your unpaid breaks. This is your raw workload.
- Commute impactMultiplied by your in-office days, commuting is a major captive time. Often the variable that tips weekly fatigue over the edge.
- The remote-work leverSwitch a day to "Remote" and the simulator cancels its commute. The most powerful lever to recover free time instantly.
- 168 hours and real free timeA week is always 168h. Subtract sleep (vital), work, commute and duties to reveal your true free time.
FAQ
How is actual work time computed?
The calculator subtracts your start time from your end time, then subtracts the break you entered. This calculation is repeated for each active day of the week.
Does commute count as work?
Legally no, the regular home-to-work commute isn't actual work. But it's time captured by your employer. Our simulator includes it in the overall load to compute your true free time.
Is my schedule data saved?
Yes, with a smart 100% local save. Your data stays in your browser storage (LocalStorage). Nothing is sent to our servers and you lose nothing when closing the page.
How do I include part-time or rest days?
Simply switch off the green toggle next to the days you don't work. The calculator will treat those days as full rest.
