Can you change a QR code's design after printing?
You can change the design in your QR tool for future downloads, but copies already printed obviously stay the same. A dynamic QR destination can change after printing; the physical appearance cannot.
Explanation
Separate the content behind the QR code from the visual design of the QR code itself.
With a dynamic QR code, the printed short URL remains stable while you change its destination. If you change colours, logo, frame or shapes in the dashboard, those changes appear only in newly generated files and new print runs.
The already printed code keeps working as long as the encoded short URL remains the same.
This distinction prevents a common misunderstanding: branding updates do not magically propagate to flyers already distributed.
Concrete example
You change your brand logo from red to black. Future PNG or SVG files can use the new design, but the 2,000 cards already printed remain red while continuing to redirect correctly.
Common mistake
Do not change the short URL or identifier behind a QR code already in circulation if doing so regenerates the pattern. That would break compatibility with the printed copies.
