Are my private images safe?
Yes, 100%. Outilo runs entirely client-side: your files are never uploaded to a server. All compression math runs on your computer or smartphone CPU. You can even use this tool offline after the first load.
Is there a limit on the number of images?
No hard limit: you can drop several dozen images at once. The tool places them in a queue and compresses them one by one (or in parallel depending on your CPU) to avoid saturating memory. The output ZIP is generated as soon as everything is processed.
Why is my compressed image sometimes heavier than the original?
This happens when you try to compress an image (often an old JPEG) that was already heavily compressed in the past. Asking for 80% quality on a file already at 60% may grow the file. Outilo detects this case and automatically keeps your original file when the result would be worse.
Should I keep EXIF data?
EXIF metadata contains hidden info attached to the photo (GPS coordinates, camera model, date, focal length). By default, Outilo strips it to lighten the file and protect your privacy. Enable "Keep EXIF" only if you archive a photo original and need those technical metadata.
