Can you tell who scanned a QR code?
Not normally from QR analytics alone. A service can measure a scan and some technical information, but it does not automatically know the name or identity of the person holding the phone.
Explanation
Scanning a QR code triggers a web request, not automatic identity disclosure.
An analytics system may observe technical information related to the request, such as time, device type, approximate location or a browser identifier depending on its configuration. That does not mean it knows the visitor's real-world identity.
To associate a scan with a person, an additional action is usually required on the destination page, such as signing in, submitting a form, booking or purchasing.
Outilo presents QR analytics in aggregated form and does not provide individual scan journeys or raw scan-event exports.
Concrete example
A flyer QR code may show 120 scans. That does not automatically provide a list of the 120 people. If the destination page includes a voluntary form, those form responses are a separate data process.
Common mistake
Be wary of claims such as know exactly who scans. Measuring a technical scan and identifying a person are two very different things.
